Grendel was added to the Premium Packs with the release of the Bazaar.
It was the first card to have a Defense base stat above 5000.
Mythology[]
Grendel is the primary antagonist featured in the Anglo-Saxon epic poem conventionally titled Beowulf. Grendel is feared by all but Beowulf, who manages to slay not only Grendel, but Grendel's mother as well. Both Grendel and his mother are described as descendants of the biblical Cain.
