Mythology[]
In Norse mythology, Garmr or Garm ("rag" in Old Norse) is a blood-stained watchdog that guards Hel's gate. When the world ends in Ragnarök, Garmr will be loosed from his chains and do battle with Týr, both ending up killing eachother.
