Duels of Bloody Pride was the first Guild vs. Guild Event. You battled other players for their treasure using Attack Power, earning Battle Points and Guild Points for your guild - and you quested for random treasures (from already completed sets) in the Treasure Trove quests using Stamina. The treasures could be invested for an increased amount of Guild Points from your guild page.
Event details:
- Period: 12/27/2012 - 1/7/2013 (21.00 EST).
Features:
- Increased Guild Point yield (200%) when investing treasures into your guild.
New cards introduced:
- Treasure Trove (Spirit level)
- Treasure Trove (King level)
- Treasure Trove (Heaven level)
- Prizes
- Thetis - Awarded to the top 1000 ranked players by total Battle Points.
- Gold Dragon - Awarded to top 5000 ranked players by total Battle Points.
- Fimbul - Awarded to (everyone in) top 100 ranked guilds by Guild Points earned during the event.
Strategy:
Since only Dragon Treasures from completed sets will drop in the Treasure Trove, there was a better strategy for players who hadn't completed the higher sets: Start a quest from Chapter 1 of the Storyline Quests, let's say "1 - 3 Set Off for A New Land", and keep an eye out for the red chest as you quest. When you see it, exit the quest. Repeat this as many times as possible.
The red chest contains the Dragon Treasure for that quest, in this case the Amethyst Ring, worth 200 Guild Points due to the increased yield. It has a ~90% chance of dropping during the quest, which will only cost you 8 Stamina Points to clear.
Thus, for the 100 Stamina Points it costs to clear the Heaven level quest in the Treasure Trove, you can clear quest "1 - 3" at least 12 times (exiting as soon as the red chest drops, will increase this number significantly), for an average of at least 2000 Guild Points even if you didn't exit after the chest dropped.
If you average less than 3000 Guild Points from the Treasure Trove's Heaven level quest, consider this strategy.
Controversy:
About halfway into the event, a warning was posted in-game against using unfair and fraudulent methods, promising that Battle Points and Guild Points would be confiscated, and that all rankings and rewards would be inaccessible, if you did.
After the event ended, another message was posted, claiming that two guilds had been confirmed, by members of the guilds in question, as having used fraudulent methods, and consequently had been excluded from the Total Guild Point rankings (but not the Battle Point rankings).
